Five Questions About Leadership and Legacies
1. What aspect of college dodgeball made you want to captain an NCDA team?
I think it was just the fact that I love the sport and I love teaching it.
2. What are the main principles that you emphasize to your team?
I mainly emphasize just go out there and have fun. I learned from Henry Ford that having fun should be the main goal and winning second, because if you only think about winning, you end up hating dodgeball if you don't win.
3. How do you want your team to remember you after your captaincy is over?
I just want them to remember me as the one who introduced them to the game and taught them everything they know.
4. What characteristics will you look for in your successor?
Just someone who knows what they are doing and can hopefully lead the team for a run to the national championship.
5. As a captain, what's your biggest priority for the league going forward?
I think that expansion is the biggest part to move the league forward. We also we need to start a group of directors, or at least a stricter policy for captains to be a part of a voting process for any issue or new policy. |
